Raised in a family who strongly supported arts, from a young age Bolyki was surrounded by artists and masters such as Jeno Barcsai and Lajos Nagy Csakvari, who deeply infulenced him both as a person and an artist.
The figurative paintings of Jonathan Bolyki possess an enigmatic use of overexposed colors. Though minimalistic in their form, the paintings do convey a suspicious aesthetic that is matched by Bolyki's landscape works, raising questions in the viewer as to what has transpired.
Thoughout his work, he uses forms, facial expressions, body languge, colors and tones to evoke the viewers emotions.
